Red Temple Records

Red Temple Records is a label based near Glastonbury, UK. We’re an independent label, with the aim of putting out music and guided practises which are essentially positive and hopeful .The world is a difficult place, many of us feel deeply frustrated with our elected (and non-elected ) leaders, and it seems to be getting worse , not better. We are trying to work towards becoming the change we want to see in the world. Minds Eye Opera is the main band we are promoting, there are two albums, ‘SHINE’ and ‘ANAHATA’. There’s more about them, the guided practises, and what else we’re doing in the news below.

If you have been on this site before, you may remember we did some work with some Tibetan monks, who were on a peace mission around the world .

At around the same time as working with the monks Minds Eye Opera were recording another album. It took over a year to do, and it’s music with real potency. Yoga magazine have reviewed the album and called it “ the perfect soundtrack for yoga practice and meditation, Minds Eye Opera performs an earthly ,sensual hum in their latest album ANAHATA. The deep, rhythmic beat throughout the 7-track CD elicits a feeling of serenity and calm: an atmospheric high that is almost ethereal……..Archetypal music for yoga practise or other personal relaxation, ANAHATA offers an elevating experience for anyone wishing to free their mind..”

There are two guided relaxation CDs by Kay Baxter. ‘Time for you ’and ‘Relax and Restore’. Kay has been working in the field of personal growth and development for more than 20 years, exploring, studying and working with relaxation and meditation. She is a qualified yoga teacher and teaches yoga and meditation to individuals and groups.

‘Relax and restore’ is designed to assist and lead you into a place of deep relaxation.

You will be guided through the different parts and layers of your body and to the experience of your breathing, whilst you simply follow with your awareness, observing and feeling sensations as your experience develops and deepens’.

'Time for you’ is a CD set of two versions of the nurture and nourish relaxation process, one of about 20 minutes listening and the other around 30 minutes, so you can choose which version you want to work with at any one time according to your need and the time you have.

Minds EYE Opera wrote and recorded music especially for Kay’s work, and an extended version of the music will be released at some point on a separate CD. It already has a working title, ‘Dance with the Dolphins’.

Below are some of the lyrics from the Minds EYE Opera album “ Shine” You can hear this , and other tracks in full by clicking on the tracks tab.”Shine” can be fully downloaded free. The title track is an uplifting and encouraging song , urging us to know that no matter what we CAN shine. The track starts wlth the Sanskrit word NAMASTE, the Indian greeting acknowledging the divine spark in us all. The final track, “A place to begin” encourages that when all around you is changing or falling apart, so to speak, there is always the possibility to make a new start-a place to begin. An analogy is made to the land of snow, namely Tibet and the song culminates in and finishes with the ancient Tibetan chant OM MANE PADME HUM which roughly translates as Om to the jewel in the heart of the lotus- the place within us that is free, the spark of the divine.

Shine
Turn out the light, switch on the nite, fall out of your sky. Pictures in waves, they move away, then its empty space. Hold on to anything and find your way, let go of everything, its okay, its not lonely to be alone.

Lovers on the stairs, they don’t really care, they get there anyway. Shuttles hit mars, its in the stars, we’ll shine through one day. If this worlds everything, its okay, its not lonely to be alone.

Pictures in caves, then there were planes, they fell from the sky. Its still going on, remember the Somme, don’t you wonder why? Hold on to anything and find your way, if this worlds everything don’t be afraid, its not lonely, if we’re alone.

Shine, we can Shine, Shine, we can shine.
Turn on the light, switch off the nite, stay up in our sky. The world is one, life from the sun, no need to ask why. Hold on to anything and find our way , if this world is everything don’t be afraid, its not lonely if we’re alone.

A Place to Begin
Something’s going on tonite, but go to the river we’ll be alright. Say goodbye to all we knew, this is it, its me and you.

Take a blanket for the cold, we should laugh we’ve been bought and sold. Say goodbye to all we know, like the people from the Land of Snow.

But hurry, its nearly time, don’t worry-you’ll be fine. A man was saved by the sound of a mandolin, and we’ll be safe when we find a place to begin.

If there’s a rising tide tonite, there’ll be a sign a different light. I know we’re not the only ones, there’s thousands more, its just begun.

But hurry, its nearly time, don’t worry, you’ll be fine. A man was saved by the sound of a mandolin, and we’ll be safe when we find a place to begin. Say goodbye to all we know, like the people from the Land of Snow.
Om mane padme hum.

The Orange Garden.
I know the world’s a strange place , but don’t cry anymore.

I know one day you’ll find your way, don’t cry anymore.

In a vision I saw you, no collisions its okay, don’t cry anymore.

We’re all walking wounded here, it’s the time of the world,

Too many living in fear , even beautiful girls,

But when the lamp goes out the sun comes up, so don’t cry anymore.

Up all nite in the Orange Garden , Blue lights is the Orange garden.

Make love in the Orange Garden, White Doves in the Orange Garden.

What’s been said :

ANAHARTA.

From Siobahn Allen,Alexander technique, body work:

“…….The earthy, hypnotic drone moves in waves, inviting us in to our very physical being, before the gradual uplifting into higher energies. I have it on replay continuously within a session, it echoes the journey of awakening that can occur in bodywork, deepening each cycle………..The soft haunting sound echoes something primal and ancient within. Listening to it stirs a familiar knowing sense, a memory of inner realms visited. .……. I love this CD, it is truly a deep journey of rediscovery.

Ranju and Lindy Roy, Yoga teachers:

ANAHARTA is a beautifully crafted album that leads us through a journey from the earthy deep sounds of “ Roots” through to the light and ethereal play of “ To Atma”. Each track takes a chakra as inspiration-and Minds EYE Opera have moulded an inspiring album..…….The tracks have a different feel to them, and we have used the album during yoga classes with pregnant women with very positive feedback.

By John Evans, Alexander and Yoga teacher :

Through the spatial depths of Anahata echo musical atmospheres and influences-electronic avant garge, western minimalism, Indian classical, eastern chant, trance-dance, new age and eclectic meditative but the piece is not fixed in any one of these genres……..

Suspended yet moved…a lovely experience…

Highly recommended for relaxation ,as a soundscape to accompany yoga practice, to take an inner journey, to paint, write or just be.

Relax and Restore./ Time for you. The Kay Baxter relaxation CDs .

By Claire Dolby, cranio-sacral therapist and international teacher.

“Kay takes you through the body in a clear and energizing way. These CDs are useful for those who need a support to build their practice and begin to gain confidence in re-connecting to a source of higher energy.

Regular usage will benefit not only yoga students but those who are infirm or in pain”.

By Elena Lain, yoga teacher ;

“ From beginning to end I felt so taken care of by Kay’s soothing gentle voice. When my mind wanted to rush some where else I felt pulled back, reminded that “there is nothing else to do as this is the task of the moment” .It felt like being given permission to listen, to just be, which in turn allowed me to go into deeper levels of my physical body. Throughout the the tape I felt nourished and soothed and I really like the fact that there was plenty of space to be able to feel the instructions, not be rushed from one part of the body to the next.

Layer and layer of tensions disappeared until I found myself in my body, in my center, with no stress left, just with myself. When the relaxation finished I experienced much clarity, connectedness and well-being.
